The Video media library enables administrators to manage video content available on your app. An overview of the feature can be found here.
Adding video content
Admins can add videos in the portal, or alternatively they can be added directly from the app – filmed using the camera or from the phone's library.
Upload a video on the portal.
The video should be in .mp4 file format with a maximum size of 100mb. If you need to convert the file, we recommend downloading Handbrake (free) or using FreeConvert.com
Click the ADD NEW VIDEO button in the top right of the portal
A modal window will open (see below). You have the choice to Drag and drop the file onto the window or click BROWSE FILE to select to file on your computer's hard drive.
Once uploaded your file will need some time to process before it appears in the list of videos you can manage. The longer the video, the longer the process time obviously, so maybe time to make a brew.
Please note: currently it is not possible to upload videos using the portal on iOS devices. Our team are investigating the cause and will look to put a fix in place. In the meantime please use the app (see below) to add video with an iPhone or iPad.
Upload a video on the app
Administrators* can upload video from the app on their device (phone or tablet)
* To use the app to add videos, your registration on the app MUST match your registration as an administrator on the admin portal. If you need to update your registered details on the app click here for our help article.
When you tap the Add video icon (highlighted in the pic above) you'll be asked to choose whether you want to film a video or select one from your library.
Once filmed/selected you'll need to give it a title. Tap Confirm and your video will be uploaded to the video media library in your admin portal.
Once uploaded your file will need some time to process before it appears in the list of videos you can manage. Again, the longer the video, the longer the upload and process time, obviously.
Managing content in the library
Uploaded and processed files will appear in the list.

Click MANAGE to set how you want your video to be available on the app.
- Video preview – this will appear once your upload is processed
- Video Title – this will automatically be the name of the uploaded file, but can be renamed
- Description – add a brief note to explain what the video is about
- Published to: – choose where you'd like the video to be available for all the view on the app, or unlisted. A link to an unlisted video can be sent via an app message enabling videos to be sent to an individual parent if needed.
- Video life – set the time when the video will auto delete from the library. This helps us manage data use on the system.
- Video status – choose to Auto publish (video will be live to view on the app once processed) or Publish manually (you set when the video can be viewed)
- Video thumbnail – auto-generated from your file
