Video – overview

Having seen the increased use of video in all forms of communication, particularly in social media we've developed a video function built-in to the app and managed entirely in the admin portal to make using video as easy for you as possible.

The benefits of built-in video

• No requirement for a third-party video hosting account (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo)
• Ad and pop-up free
• No auto-play to a subsequent 'suggested' video, that may not be appropriate
• Videos can be managed by anyone with Admin rights in the portal. Share the workload.
• Can be used by organisations that are not permitted to use social media
• Deliver videos directly into the hands of app users.
• App users can play the video on their phone or Cast to a larger screen.

How will it work for me?

Firstly, you'll need some content. So go ahead and shoot your first 'feature' or maybe you have an existing video* that you'd like to share. Upload to the admin portal, either directly on your computer or app users with Admin rights can do this in the app. For full details of how to do this click here.
* By uploading a video you will be confirming you own the copyright, or have permission to share on our platform.

How can we manage access to the videos?

Content uploaded to the admin portal can be managed in the Video media library. App admins can do the following:

• Add a title and description if required
• Publish to the app or leave unlisted (private)
• Define the life of the video (1 week, 1 month or indefinite)

And how do we share the content with app users?

Content published to the app library will be available to view in the  Video menu item. 

Your videos can also be added as a News item in place of an image, or sent as an app message to All users, groups or individuals.

Everyone gets video!

Our starter video package* is available to all accounts and is included in the base app licence. Please contact us to request activation, if it's not already listed in the menu on your admin portal.
* Restrictions apply.

 If you need to list more videos on the app than is possible with the starter package, please contact us to request our Video Plus module is added to your account.
