School administrators can now create Consent items which parents will be able to action directly from mySchoolApp. Reports can be generated directly in the portal, which saves time and cuts paper-based administration dramatically.
Consent is an optional feature. If you would like to find out more please call 01908 336555 or email support@myschoolapp.co.uk and let us know the name of your school.
For Consent to work on our system, we will require integration with the school's MIS. We use Wonde to enable us to integrate with all the major MIS platforms.
Set your school up for online Consent.
Once we have enabled a link to your school MIS we will let you know and you can set up your school ready for online Consent.
- Login to the mySchoolApp portal and click Consent in the menu on the left.
- Now click Settings in the expanded submenu
- Enter the email address to receive notifications of any consent status changes. Under GDPR parents must be free to change their decision at any time.
- Read and check the default terms provided. You can edit or replace with your own text if required, (please ensure you retain the first paragraph which gives the instruction to the parent on how the grant consent)
- Click SAVE
Now follow our 5 steps to create your first Consent item
- Enter a title for your item. You may want to add a year reference for easy reporting later.
- Enter a description. This should be the full details of why you require consent.
Further reading here (external link: ico website – Education and Families) - Either use the default terms (see above) or uncheck to add Custom Terms for this specific item.
- Check to apply any categories that are applicable to this item. For whole school consent items, categories can be left unchecked.
- Click SAVE and double check! Once you have clicked SAVE & PUBLISH this consent item will not be editable (To comply with GDPR, details cannot be changed once a parent or carer has acted on a consent)
Your consent item is now live on your school's app.
You can send a linked message to parents for a Consent that requires their attention.
