On the Home screen of your app you will notice 3 buttons to the right of your logo (see example below). It is now possible to override the default functions set for your app account. See below for details.
INFORMATION
This is an area for you to introduce the school (or centre) to parents and carers. The content you add follows the same formatting as a News article (Picture, Headline and Body text). We suggest either a general introduction or perhaps a personal welcome from the head.
To add content to this area navigate to the Contact section within the admin portal and scroll down to the section titled 'Information – Home screen button'. Add you text and image, click save and you're done. Watch our video user guide here (scrub to 2:30)
KEY DATES
This button provides parents and carers with instant access to all the important dates in the school calendar – term dates, inset days, sports day, or the nativity play for example.
To ensure dates are correctly displayed on this button, events have to be marked as a 'Key Date'. More information about managing the calendar and categories are available on the following link.
Button function customisation (available on request)
The 3 buttons can all now be assigned custom functions to override the default settings. Each button can be set to perform one of the following actions:
- Information (default, but can be changed)
- Key Dates (default, but can be changed)
- My Child
- Calendar event
- Calendar category
- Document
- Document Folder
- News item
- Image album
- Video
- Hyperlink
My Child (mySchoolApp Connect package required )
Displays a dashboard view of a child's attendance %, Achievement and Behaviour View example.
Calendar event
Links button to a specific event in the calendar
Calendar category
Links button to a filtered view of the calendar by category (e.g. Sports fixtures)
Document
Links button to a specific Document stored on the app
Document folder
Links button to the Documents section on the app or a specific folder
News Item
Links button to specific news item
Image album
Links button to the Image Gallery section on the app or a specific album
Video
Links button to specific video
Hyperlink
Links button to external web page (url)

- School name
- Function and label (max 12 characters) for each of the 3 buttons
(buttons 1 and 2 can be left as default) - Link details for each button (Document, Event, Category, Hyperlink etc.)
